The Title is: "Becoming Black and White"

This book will take you on my journey to discover what it was like being from two different worlds. In my case my father was an African American from Arkansas, and my mother a Caucasian from Frankfurt, Germany. The beginning of their story and mine takes place in post WWII, Germany. The reader will follow my personal story of being a little German girl with German roots who never experienced prejudice until we had to move to America. Becoming Americans was a lot more complicated for us. When choices needed or expected to be made I simply could not deny either side of my heritage.

My time at WHS was more limited than most. I had transferred from Kaiserslautern American High School in Germany in my Sophomore year. I actually had enough credits to graduate from WHS at that time but couldn't meet the requirement of WHS. So for the balance of my time there I averaged two classes a day and then worked a job and helped take care of my family while my Dad was in Korea. That schedule didn't allow for much school socializing.
So, my time with classmates was limited but I have many fond memories of my years at WHS.
